About Invetest

Built to show you the truth
about money and time

Most people delay investing because it feels complex. Invetest exists to show, with real data, what that delay actually costs — and what starting now could mean.

What is Invetest?

Invetest is a free investment return calculator that uses real historical market data to answer one of the most common questions in personal finance: "What would my money be worth if I had invested it?"

You pick an asset — Bitcoin, Apple stock, the S&P 500, Gold, NVIDIA, or any of 30+ supported assets. You pick a time period and an amount. Invetest fetches real historical closing prices and calculates the exact return. No guesses. No marketing spin. Just the math.

We also offer Future Mode — a Monte Carlo simulator that runs 1,000 probability scenarios for any investment going forward, based on how the asset has actually behaved historically.

Why we built it

The idea behind Invetest is simple: people understand numbers better than percentages, and they understand stories better than both. Telling someone "the S&P 500 averages 10% per year" means little. Showing them that $200/month for 10 years turned into $42,000 — using real 2014–2024 data — changes how they think.

Invetest is the tool we wished existed when we were first learning about investing: concrete, honest, and free.

Data & methodology

All historical price data is sourced from Yahoo Finance via the yfinance Python library. Prices are adjusted for stock splits and represent daily closing prices. Monthly returns are calculated using month-end closing prices.

Future Mode Monte Carlo simulations are based on the asset's actual daily return statistics (mean and standard deviation) over the past 10 years of trading data. The simulation samples from a normal distribution of monthly returns scaled from daily statistics, and runs 1,000 independent paths forward.
